About the Role

About Sauramandala Foundation

Sauramandala Foundation is an NGO founded in 2018 with a vision to bring about systemic change in the lives of remote communities through empathetic, collaborative, and contextual solutions that are co-created with the communities themselves.

About the Role:

As Social Media & Creatives Coordinator, you’ll be the storytelling spark behind Sauramandala Foundation’s digital presence. From big-picture campaigns to last-minute Instagram posts, you’ll lead all things social—across SMF’s main page and its many dynamic projects—making sure everything we put out is timely, thoughtful, and totally on brand.

You’ll dream up content plans, bring campaigns to life, and design everything from scroll-worthy carousels to field-ready flyers. Whether it’s a recurring post or a fresh new idea, you’ll be the go-to for clean, creative design that speaks to our purpose.

This role will have you juggling multiple content calendars and working closely with Project Communications Managers across different projects. You’ll coordinate, brainstorm, review drafts, and nudge things along—sometimes all at once—so strong collaboration and time management skills are a must.

You’ll also steer the ship for our centralised production team—fielding requests, tracking timelines, and making sure every reel, video, or visual goes out polished and on time. You'll partner with our Video Production & Design Associate to plan shoots, give feedback, and occasionally jump in with design or basic editing support.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

1. Social Media Management

  • Arrange and facilitate monthly content planning meetings with project teams and the central communications team.

  • Create monthly content calendars for SMF’s main page and each active project page, aligned with campaign objectives and events.

  • Publish content at least 2–3 times per week across all active pages (either independently or by coordinating with Project Communications Managers).

  • Maintain a social media database to track posts, engagement metrics, templates, and asset libraries.

  • Monitor platform performance and share monthly analytics reports with key insights and recommendations.

  • Ensure all content adheres to SMF’s tone, values, and branding guidelines.

  • Stay updated on relevant trends and formats across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) and propose creative ideas for experimentation.

  • Manage timely responses and engagement (likes, comments, messages) or coordinate with teams to do so.

2. Coordination

  • Coordinate with PCMs for all audio-visual content production requests

  • Ensure content flow structures are followed.

  • Follow up with PCMs to ensure timely provision of raw data or content inputs in line with the content calendar and project timelines

  • Coordinate with PCMs for any event related AV content requirement

3. Graphic design

  • Design static graphics for social media posts, stories, carousels, and digital campaigns across SMF and project pages.

  • Develop and maintain a library of reusable templates for recurring formats (e.g., announcements, event recaps, partner spotlights, testimonials).

  • Design various print collateral—such as posters, standees, and invitations—that are aligned with campaign objectives and organizational branding.

  • Assist in the design and layout of newsletters, reports, and other communication materials to ensure a cohesive and polished final product.

  • Provide design guidance or basic training to team members using templates or Canva-based assets

Eligibity & Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Design, Media, Development Studies—or something close. If you’ve got the skills, we’re flexible!

  • 2+ years of experience in the communications or creative space—bonus points if you’ve worked in the social impact or nonprofit sector.

  • You’ve got an eye for good design and hands that can make it happen—whether it’s Canva, Adobe, or any tool that helps bring ideas to life.

  • You live and breathe social media—you know what’s trending, what’s working, and how to make content that connects.

  • You’ve dabbled in (or are great at) writing, video, or storytelling—and you know how to tell a story that moves people.

  • You love a good narrative arc—and have a knack for turning reports or field notes into scroll-stopping stories and visuals.

  • You’re okay switching gears quickly—one day it’s a youth program, the next it’s a climate innovation lab. You’re up for the ride.

  • You’re happy to hit the road when needed—at least 30% of your time will involve field visits, capturing stories and ideas where they happen.

  • You’re organized, collaborative, and don’t panic when the calendar gets a little wild. You find the flow and keep the creativity coming.
