About the Role
About the position:
As the Manager- Operation you will oversee and optimize the day-to-day operations of our projects and initiatives. This role will focus on enhancing operational efficiency, managing resources, and ensuring the seamless execution of programs in alignment with the Foundation's mission to drive social impact in rural and underrepresented communities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Strategy and Management:
Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure the efficient and effective execution of the Foundation's projects and initiatives.
Oversee daily operations, including resource allocation, workflow management, and quality control, ensuring adherence to organisational standards and protocols.
Monitor and analyse operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
2. Logistics and Administration:
Manage logistics and administrative functions, including procurement, inventory management, scheduling, and coordination of project activities.
Ensure that all logistical needs are met to support the smooth implementation of programs across various regions.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and manage the operations teams within projects, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and setting goals for team members.
4. Project Management:
Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of operational activities with project goals.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with project implementation, ensuring contingency plans are in place.
5. Financial Management:
Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring effective utilisation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring transparency in financial operations.
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
6. Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organisational policies.
Prepare and submit regular reports on operational activities, performance metrics, and project outcomes to senior management.
Implement and maintain operational policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with best practices.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Social Work, Rural Development or a related field.
Additional training in Project Management or Logistics is preferred.
8-9 years of experience in operational management, preferably in the social impact or non-profit sector.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in logistics, administration, and financial management.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on achieving results.
